Consumerism

I am a terrible consumer or a great one depending on your perspective.

One of the things I have had to embrace since moving to Denmark is the wish list that you have to issue before birthdays and Christmas. As that time is again approaching, I have been thinking about what I would like for my birthday. It is amazing how I can within a few minutes decide that I "need"an ipod and subsequently spend the better part of a day deciding which one I want. The answer for those of you who care (nobody right?) is a black ipod classic 80MB.

I would really like a motorbike and a licence, but I can't come to terms with the fact that I have to pay at least double the normal price because I live in a country where I will only realistically be able to use it for 7 months of the year. Surely it should be half price by that logic.

I'll publish the full list tomorrow...

By the way, we have put a £10-£15 limit in Christmas presents this tear.
    Imagination rather than funds.
I thought that you had an i pod.

  2. That'st fine, I think we'll probably only buy gifts for the kids and OAPs... We're out of the country anyway so there'll be little chance of seeing the looks of dissapointment as people are asked to share the tin of Danish Butter Cookies!
If you put a £15 limit, it still ads up to a lot of money these days, there are getting to be rather a lot of people.
