I've been away from normal work and blogging for a while but I guess I should be getting back to some more regular service for both.
MK and the boys are at the beach with T&B along with the vGs (I hope you can figure out who these people are) so I have been back and forth a bit and at home alone a bit but slowly getting ready for normality coming in the next week or so as everyone comes back from their vacations.
One of the results of our holiday in England was that we got to see a lot of sailing boats racing in Fowey harbour. (I'll post holiday snaps when I get my hands on the camera, but it is with the rest of the family). I had forgotten how much fun sailing seems and have convinced myself that I miss it having not sailed properly in many years. Coinciding with this has been the Olympic sailing leading me to the inevitable conclusion that I should take it up again and teach the kids to sail at some point as well.
I am taking a look around for a really cheap old Finn (that is a type of boat) that I can keep out at the summer house for the time being and learn to sale again and see how it goes. The market for used boats here is much much smaller than in the UK. It seems that everyone has a big boat here and nobody bothers with dinghies. There is one for sale up the road from T&B that I will take a look at but it seems to be the only one for sale in the country other than top end racing boats.

Wetsuits
Apparently nobody swims in the sea without a wetsuit any more in England except me. The kids got there's wet but as they are both too skinny for them, they didn't help at all and both DK and J decided not to actually swim. I swam out to the pontoon in Readymoney cove and dived back in. It was pretty bracing to be honest.

Lost Gardens
A day out to the lost gardens. This was a sculpture in the woods, there was aloso a jungle area and some impressive fruit and veg garden that have been restored to their former glory. Apparently someone had been all over the world collecting plants and stuff and this was the result with Søren decay and restoration in between. The pineapple house was cool and the greenhouse full of apricots and peaches smelled devine.

Arrived
Wow that was a long drive. 24 hours travelling with only an hour or so resting apart from the chunnel. Now we are here, the house is great and we can get on with being on holiday.

Adjustable?
DKs brace broke in the middle last night so I have had to make an emergency repair. It's significantly less adjustable than it was but I don't think it will break before we get him a new one next time we are in Manchester for a check up in December.

Happy Birthday DK
He's a bit under the weather at the moment so he will be having a day with Morfar but we are looking forward to celebrating this afternoon with a couple of his friends and the family again this evening.

Car Service
The car's being serviced today and for the first time, we are not using the Mazda dealer in an effort to save some money. I hope the guy does a good job and that he is actually cheaper!
